ANSI J-STD-008, Personal Station - Base Station Compatibility Standard for Dual-Mode Wideband Spread Spectrum PCS System.

Formal definition of the PCS (1900 MHz) air interface - heavy on rigor, light on explanations. The PCS standard differs from IS-95-A primarily in the frequency plan and in call processing related to subscriber station identity, such as paging and call origination. The basic signal structure (message formats, coding, and modulation) are identical .
