CDMA450 Markets

CDMA450 offers a robust solution for multiple markets:

  • Universal Services: Providing access to communication services (voice and Internet access) is a key priority for governments and regulators around the world, especially in developing countries. CDMA450 offers an ideal solution to meet these goals and to cost effectively extend communication services to currently underserved rural and remote areas. Forward-looking governments are taking full advantage of these services by connecting schools, hospitals, police stations and communities to CDMA450 telecommunication networks.
  • Mobile or Fixed Broadband Data Services: CDMA450 can be utilized to deliver fixed and mobile broadband access to data users over wide areas. Instant messaging, SMS, MMS, gaming, broadband Internet access, music downloads, video downloads, location-based services (LBS), push-to-talk (PTT), social networking, mobile commerce, mobile advertising and mobile television are some of the value-added data services that are enabled by CDMA450.
  • Public Services: CDMA450 can be used for national security, first-responder and public safety communication services that include group communication, high-speed data access, push-to-speak, See What I See (SWIS) video streaming, location-based services, remote video monitoring and dispatch services.
  • Evolution of Existing NMT-450 Systems to IMT-2000: CDMA450 offers an easy migration path for operators in Eastern/Central European and the Nordic countries, Russia and South East Asia who used the 450 MHz band to provide wireless services with first generation analog equipment, based on the Nordic Mobile Telephone (NMT). CDMA450 is one of the few technologies that can operate in the 4 to 5 MHz of spectrum allocated to these services since 3 to 4 (1.25 MHz) carriers can fit into the spectrum.
