As wireless customers have become accustomed to staying connected anywhere they go, CDMA2000 operators have been rapidly expanding their inter-standard roaming services to provide seamless coverage in countries where only GSM systems are available. In the past, inter-standard roaming required customers to lease or purchase a GSM phone; today, operators are offering WorldMode phone which enable customers to use one phone in both GSM and CDMA2000 markets.
