iPHONE: CDMA DEVELOPMENT GROUP EXECUTIVES ARE AVAILABLE AS EXPERT RESOURCES ABOUT CDMA2000
Following this morning’s announcement of a CDMA iPhone, the CDMA Development Group (CDG) is making its executives available for comment and to provide factual information about CDMA2000®. The CDG can address questions about the CDMA2000 technology roadmap, interoperability with other wireless technologies including LTE and the potential addressable market for the CDMA iPhone.
The iOS becomes yet another operating system utilizing the mobile broadband capabilities of 3G CDMA mobile broadband networks, joining other notables including Android, Blackberry, Brew OS, Java ME, Palm OS and Windows Mobile. The CDMA iPhone joins 2,455 handsets, tablets, modems, routers and other devices that have been commercially launched on CDMA2000 networks since 1995, including 33 Android and 16 Blackberry devices.
CDMA2000 is a widely-deployed 3G technology, with 315 operators in 120 countries and territories serving more than 550 million CDMA users worldwide. CDMA2000 1xEV-DO is a widely-deployed 3G CDMA (IMT-2000) solution offering mobile broadband to over 147 million people across a wide range of devices.
The CDMA Development Group is a global trade association formed to foster the advancement of CDMA and other complementary wireless solutions.
