UIM Card Enables International Roaming and Delivers
Value-added Services
|
WHAT:
|
The CDMA Development Group (CDG) will host an online
interactive event exploring the role of user identity
module (UIM) cards in CDMA networks. The CDG will be
joined by representatives from Gemplus, a leading SIM
card vendor, to discuss benefits and applications of
UIM cards, also known as subscriber identity module
(SIM) cards. UIM cards enable wireless consumers to
securely transfer subscription identity to a phone by
utilizing necessary frequency or technology. This allows
the user to roam nationally or internationally and still
have access to their home services.
Other topics that will be covered include an overview
of the Asian market, as well as the interest this technology
is gaining in the North and Latin American markets,
and the increasingly important role of UIM in 3G networks
worldwide.
