CDMA Dubbed Asia's Hottest Wireless Technology
CDMA Voted Hottest Wireless Technology By
Telecom Asia Reader Survey
COSTA MESA, Calif., June 2, 1998 - - CDMA was voted the "Hottest Wireless Technology in 1998" by Telecom Asia's Reader's Choice Awards, a survey conducted among 500 of the publication's subscribers. Telecom Asia is a leading Asian telecommunications magazine.
"Telecom Asia's survey is a reflection of the dynamic trend taking place in Asia: CDMA is becoming the region's dominant digital wireless technology," said Perry LaForge, executive director of the CDG. "This award reflects the technology's strong position, spectral efficiency, and superior voice and call capacity. We are proud to receive such an award from a prestigious publication like Telecom Asia."
Telecom Asia initiated its Reader's Choice Awards in March, 1998. The publication surveyed its readership and disqualified respondents that nominated their employers in an effort to maintain the survey's objectivity. The publication says the survey is Asia's "first fair survey of what the industry thinks about itself . . ."
Telecom Asia's core readers are the people who approve, finance, plan, design, build and operate Asia's telecommunications infrastructure. In addition, the publication provides unique technical information and industry analysis intended to educate readers on new technologies being developed, and on ways of applying existing technologies to the specific nature of the Asian telecoms environment.
Wireless Asia is the first magazine published in Asia for the telecom professional involved in specifying and purchasing technology and services for wireless networks. It is published by Telecom Asia and a part of Advanstar Telecom Group.
