CDMA Development Group Announces Radio Location Technology Forum
Carrier-focused forum to review radio location technology solutions to meet FCC E-911 Phase 2 mandate
Atlanta, GA, February 23, 1998 -- The CDMA Development Group (CDG) today announced plans to hold a cdmaOne Radio Location Forum in Dallas, Texas on March 19, 1998. The purpose of this forum is to provide an opportunity for CDG operators to get a collective perspective on location solutions available for cdmaOne networks and handsets. At the same time, suppliers of location technologies will receive maximum exposure for their radio solutions to address the FCC E911 Phase 2 mandate.
"The CDG has taken a proactive response to recent government mandates directed at the implementation of location capabilities for wireless E911," said Perry LaForge, executive director of the CDG. "This forum will provide CDG operators with opportunities to assess one or more of these technologies for possible adoption into cdmaOne infrastructure and subscriber products."
Participants at the forum will have 20 to 30 minutes to present their proposed solution. Presentations should include a general system overview, a discussion of system performance, including the impact on overall CDMA network performance, and a schedule for product availability.
Radio location technology providers who wish to participate in the forum should contact Ellen Douglas or Jim Takach of the CDG by telephone at +1-714-545-5211 or by fax at +1-714-545-8600 to receive further information.
