LG G3 in Shine Gold Color Exclusively Offered from Sprint With the Power of Sprint Spark OVERLAND PARK, Kan., May 27, 2014 - Sprint will be the only wireless carrier to offer the U.S. variant of LG G3 in a Shine Gold color with the super-high-speed network capability of Sprint Spark™ and the significant savings of the Sprint Framily Plan. Introduced by LG Electronics today, LG G3 is the next generation of the award-winning LG G family of smartphones. It will be available later this summer.

Powered by Sprint Spark with HD Voice Capabilities

Sprint customers can take advantage of LG G3 with the super-high-speed network capability of Sprint Spark, a unique combination of advanced network capabilities built for data delivering peak wireless speeds of 60Mbps today on capable devices, with the potential for speeds three times as fast by late 2015. Sprint Spark is available in 24 markets and is expected to cover 100 million people by the end of the year.

Additionally, LG G3 is equipped with HD Voice capabilities. Sprint HD Voice expands the normal voice call from a four-octave range to seven octaves to deliver crystal clear voice calls while helping to reduce unwanted background noise. Sprint expects to have nationwide availability of HD Voice by mid-year, and expects approximately 20 million customers to have HD Voice-enabled phones by year-end2.

LG G3 from Sprint also supports Pinsight Touch, a nationwide, open platform powered by Sprint for NFC-enabling mobile applications and services across transit, access control and payment verticals. The service from Pinsight Media+ provides a direct path for brands and credential issuers to NFC-enable their own branded applications and share secured access to those credentials with other trusted applications using the embedded secure element on Sprint NFC devices.

Sprint and NTELOS Extend Strategic Network Alliance Through 2022 OVERLAND PARK, Kan. & WAYNESBORO, Va. – May 22, 2014 – Sprint Corporation and NTELOS Holdings Corp. today announced that Sprint and NTELOS Inc. (“nTelos”) reached an amended agreement to extend their Strategic Network Alliance (“SNA”) through 2022. Under the agreement, nTelos will continue to serve as the exclusive network provider for Sprint in the SNA territory, which covers approximately 2.1 million people in West Virginia and the western part of Virginia. In addition, Sprint customers will gain access to nTelos’s recently launched 4G LTE network and nTelos will have access to Sprint’s 800 MHz, 1.9 GHz and 2.5 GHz spectrum throughout the territory. nTelos plans to maximize the network experience for both its retail and wholesale customers by committing to expand and build its 4G LTE network in the SNA territory to specifications aligned with Sprint’s network modernization program.

“Extending our agreement with nTelos illustrates Sprint’s long-term commitment to enhancing competition by partnering with rural wireless carriers to provide faster networks, better coverage and more choice to Americans in underserved areas,” said Michael C. Schwartz, Sprint senior vice president of Corporate and Business Development. “The continuation of our long-standing relationship with nTelos allows Sprint to maximize our spectrum assets, reduce capital expenditures and provide our customers in western Virginia and West Virginia with expanded 4G LTE services.”

“Sprint and nTelos have been close partners since 1999, and today’s announcement further solidifies our relationship,” said James A. Hyde, CEO of NTELOS Holdings Corp. “The amended agreement will provide both nTelos and Sprint with a state-of-the-art network in the SNA territory from which each company can better serve our customers, compete more effectively and grow our respective market share. By making additional investments in our network, we expect to satisfy the growing voice and data needs of our largest customer as well as those of our retail subscribers and other wholesale partners. In addition, the agreement enhances our retail offering by providing nTelos customers with access to the Sprint Spark 4G network. Sprint’s agreement with nTelos builds on initiatives announced in March by Sprint, the Competitive Carriers Association and NetAmerica Alliance that seek to accelerate the deployment of 4G LTE coverage throughout underserved American communities. The programs foster a competitive 4G LTE wireless ecosystem -- reducing roaming costs for carriers and improving competition, while expanding Sprint’s coverage by giving its customers the ability to roam on regional and rural carriers’ networks.

Algerie Telecom, Nokia Launch North Africa’s First Commercial LTE Network Espoo, Finland – May 21, 2014 – Nokia, the world’s specialist in mobile broadband, has deployed North Africa’s first commercial LTE network in Algeria for the state-owned operator, Algérie Télécom. Algérie’s subscribers can now enjoy world-class LTE broadband service experience with high speed services and improved coverage, thanks to Nokia’s LTE solutions including its Single RAN (radio access network) Advanced and comprehensive services.

The company’s comprehensive services including network planning and optimization, network implementation, and care services such as hardware and software services ensured the speedy and smooth rollout. In addition, Nokia provided a security solution, which included a solution from Juniper Networks, in order to protect both the operator’s network assets and end users’ privacy.

Better Solutions, One Phone Case at a Time: Sprint Supports New Technology That Turns Greenhouse Gas into Plastic OVERLAND PARK, Kan., May 13, 2014 - Today Sprint announced it will be one of the first companies to use AirCarbon™, a new carbon-negative material made from greenhouse gas, instead of petroleum, to create plastic products. The material will be used in black and pink cell phone cases for the iPhone® 5 and iPhone® 5s that will be sold online exclusively on Sprint.com by late May for $29.99, plus tax. Sprint is the first telecommunications company in the world to launch a carbon-negative product using AirCarbon™.

The material, AirCarbon™, is manufactured by California-based Newlight Technologies. The company uses a proprietary carbon capture process to convert air and greenhouse gases (GHGs) into a plastic that has similar durability and performance characteristics to petroleum-based plastics. The conversion technology can synthesize high-performance thermoplastics from a wide range of sources, including methane and/or carbon dioxide from agricultural operations, water treatment plants, landfills, anaerobic digesters, or energy facilities. The material has wide applications, as it can then be formed and molded into almost any given design.

AirCarbon™ is an independently verified, cradle-to-grave (including all energy inputs, transportation, and end-of-life) carbon-negative material, quantifiably reducing the amount of carbon in the air in every ounce of AirCarbon™ produced. In fact, the weight of the new cell phone case is the same weight in carbon (as carbon dioxide equivalent greenhouse gas) that has been sequestered and would otherwise be part of the air by making the case, generating a net positive environmental impact.
