According to him, until the end of the year, the company will also deliver 4G technology in Cuiabá, Curitiba, Manaus, Natal and Porto Alegre, as scheduled deployment of Anatel.

Vivo The 4G network has coverage in the city of São Paulo * , with higher density in certain areas. The new technology provides experience using fully differentiated data connection. With performance up to ten times higher than the Vivo's 3G, the user has access to ultrafast videos, streaming music and games, among other services online or in the cloud.

Vivo Plus 4G

"We will offer the best service in the 4G market.'s Why we're calling Live Plus 4G: 4G plus with Vivo," says Paulo Cesar Teixeira, director general of Telefonica Vivo. According to him, the Living 4G Plus has great advantages. "First, we have the largest 3G coverage Plus market, reaching more than 3100 municipalities, which ensures quality connection even outside of a 4G coverage area. We are the only operator to offer the MultiVivo plan that allows you to connect the tablet or notebook to the web from your smartphone data plan. Moreover, we have lots of plans, with more franchise information, "he says. Telefonica Vivo acquired one of the most important blocks of the 4G auction, the frequency of 20 + 20Mhz."This allows us to connect more customers at the same time with better quality of services," notes the director general of the company, highlighting another difference of 4G Live Plus.

Plans and handsets

Vivo Plus 4G arrives with plans for smartphones, tablets and modems and also for the Living Box, a specific product of Telefonica Vivo to connect the customer's home internet. For smartphones, the plans offer relief from 2GB to 6GB of data, and unlimited voice and unlimited SMS to Vivo for any carrier, for prices starting at R $ 149.00 (applicable to the state of São Paulo). For modems and tablets, plans range from 5GB to 20GB, with starting price of R $ 99.90, same value for 4G Box Live Plus, which offers twice the data allowance to use at home: up to 40GB.

4G The Live can be purchased also in format MultiVivo, new concept in mobile Internet, which allows up to five additional devices - tablets, modems or smartphones - are connected to the Internet from a smartphone through a single plan for a monthly fee from £ 29 per additional line, ensuring economy and convenience to the user.

Vivo already sells six models of smartphone to connect to the internet via 4G: LTE Samsung SIII; Motorola Razr HD, LG Optimus G, Nokia Lumia 820, Nokia Lumia 920, Sony Xperia ZQ and also offers Samsung Galaxy S IV. The operator, by the end of May, will make available ten models of smartphones and a tablet with 4G technology, adding to the portfolio F5 LG, Blackberry and Samsung Galaxy Express Z10, this focusing on corporate customers, in addition to tablet Samsung Note 10.1 4G.

Complementary infrastructure

Telefonica Vivo has selected Ericsson to supply and implementation of 4G/LTE network in the North and Midwest regions of Brazil, and the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Bahia. For additional coverage of the host cities of the FIFA Confederations Cup, the company is working with Huawei in Fortaleza, Recife and Rio de Janeiro.

To start the operation, used existing 3G towers to install 1,234 antennas 4G, which will operate in frequency range of 2.5 GHz Additionally, a sustainable site was established in the Federal District, using public lighting pole for antenna installation. In this case, the remaining devices were placed in boxes ground, guaranteeing the preservation and reducing the visual impact. The solution, developed with 100% national technology prevents the construction of new towers and offers a cleaner look, while consuming less energy, factors that give the initiative a high level of sustainability. Besides synergy in infrastructure, 4G and 3G have complementary operations, since LTE is intended only to data traffic. For voice traffic, the devices are automatically switched to the 3G network. "As our 3G network is the largest and high performance features, the customer benefits from 4G to choose Vivo," says Teixeira. Telefonica Vivo offers third generation technology in more than 3100 municipalities, serving 85% of the population.

International experience

Telefonica already has a successful operation LTE in Germany. The company acquired the frequencies in May 2010 and in September was already conducting pilots in rural areas of Munich and Halle. In January 2012, signed an agreement with Deutsche Telekom, and in May, started the offerings for businesses.

There is used the frequency of 800 Mhz The company believes that, due to its high speed, LTE will leverage the business mobile data enormously. So, is focused on areas that require high-speed traffic.

Live tasting in stores

To celebrate the launch of the 4G network, which offers speeds up to ten times faster than 3G, Vivo will make a series of events today, open to customers in stores six host cities of the FIFA Confederations Cup, and São Paulo . Sprint Launches Data Link and Static IP on its 4G LTE Network

Sprint Launches Data Link and Static IP on its 4G LTE Network OVERLAND PARK, Kan., April 23, 2013 - Sprint today announced that Sprint Data Link™ and Static IP networking services now operate over the Sprint 4G LTE network. Both products are compatible with 3G as well as 4G, and include upgrades that make it easier for businesses and government agencies to deploy, manage and extend an enterprise network to modems, tablets and handsets.

Sprint Data Link enables business networks to reach beyond the limits of a corporate enterprise WAN. Sprint Data Link provides mobile employees and connected devices with access to their mission-critical business information over a private wireless network, separate from the public Internet.

Sprint Data Link comes with a 99.9% availability service level agreement (SLA) and is supported on a vast array of 3G- and 4G-capable devices including handsets, tablets, laptops, mobile broadband cards, hotspots and M2M embedded modems. Uses range from setting up retail kiosks, seasonal storefronts, temporary offices, lottery terminals and wireline backup to remote monitoring and home healthcare.

Sprint Static IP assigns the same IP address to a device each time that device authenticates and accesses the Internet. It allows companies to more easily manage remote wireless devices including M2M applications, handsets and tablets. Sprint provides businesses with the ability to purchase a contiguous, sequential range or block of IP addresses, which can ease the deployment of devices and simplicity of firewall configuration.

“Sprint Data Link and Static IP provide businesses with highly effective tools to deploy and manage wireless devices,” said John Dupree-senior vice president of business sales, Sprint. “We are well-positioned to meet the demand for reliable, secure mobile data as our business customers take advantage of new technology, chipsets, devices and applications.”

Sprint Network Vision

To support the growing need for data, Sprint is rolling out a new 3G/4G network designed to provide faster data speeds, improved quality and easier connectivity. Sprint introduced its all-new 4G LTE network in July 2012 and now offers service in 88 markets. Sprint expects customers to benefit with better wireless signal strength, in-building coverage and fewer drops/blocks. In addition, Sprint smartphone customers also benefit from Truly Unlimited? data, text and calling to any mobile with no metering, no throttling, and no overages, all while on the Sprint network. Sprint Selects u-blox As A Preferred Module Provider For Long-term CDMA Network Support

Sprint Selects u-blox As A Preferred Module Provider For Long-term CDMA Network Support OVERLAND PARK, Kan. & THALWIL, Switzerland, April 22, 2013 - Sprint, a major U.S. telecommunications provider, and Swiss-based u-blox, a leading provider of cellular modem modules and positioning technology, announce the expansion of their collaboration in support of Sprint’s commitment to the 2G (1xRTT) CDMA network. As a carrier committed to network choice, Sprint believes M2M customers should be able to choose or combine 2G, 3G and 4G LTE capabilities, depending on their particular requirements. Sprint expects to maintain its 2G network capability for the long term as part of its overall Network Vision strategy. Both companies believe 2G remains an important network option for business customers, including those that deploy Machine-to-Machine (M2M) solutions as part of their service or product offerings.

This collaboration will allow business customers to extend the product lifetime of their existing 2G M2M devices by seamlessly migrating to the CDMA network with minimal effort. Those customers concerned about the continued availability of 2G GSM networks in the U.S., can now select from a variety of affordable u-blox modems tested for compatibility on Sprint’s CDMA 1xRTT network. The u-blox FW75-C200 modem, a pin-compatible replacement for widely used GSM modem MC75i and its variants, is well suited to continue on 2G without having to migrate to much more expensive 3G and 4G modems.

“Now is the opportune time for any customers migrating off GSM or designing new products for telematics, telemetry, automotive, and security applications to take advantage of Sprint’s 2G platform,” said Wayne Ward, vice president, M2M Group, Sprint. “Sprint’s Network Vision strategy enables ongoing 2G connectivity with the security and performance advantages of CDMA*, while also supporting a smooth path to CDMA 3G and LTE 4G for customers who choose that transition. We are pleased to collaborate with u-blox to bring these options to 2G-embedded M2M customers.”

Network Vision supports network choice for our customers nationwide. As with 3G, Sprint Network Vision is expected to improve Sprint 2G coverage, capacity, & reliability. M2M and other emerging solutions can involve widely varying data transmission speeds. Sprint expects to be able to provide all these network platforms for the long haul as part of a continuing portfolio of technology options.

“We are proud to have been selected as the preferred provider by Sprint. It will allow customers to leverage Sprint’s impressive CDMA coverage in the US. Forced migration from 2G GSM to HSPA can now be avoided, given Sprint’s commitment to 2G longevity of the CDMA network,” said Nikolaos Papadopoulos, president of u-blox America. “Should customers still want to offer their devices in 2G and 3G, we at u-blox have already prepared for this parallel track with our nested-design module philosophy for 2G/3G platforms, where customers can select the inexpensive CDMA SMT modem LISA-C200.”

u-blox CDMA module series consists of the FW75 CDMA 1xRTT module in an industry-standard package, as well as the popular LISA and PCI-express form factors. In addition to technical support, reference designs, evaluation kits, firmware and free module samples, Sprint and u-blox will soon announce nationwide hands-on seminars focusing on GSM to CDMA modem migration.

Using the company's lower 700 MHz spectrum licenses, Bluegrass Cellular plans to serve a coverage area of over 700,000 people by June of 2013.

The LTE core and test sites supporting GetSetGo services were placed into service in late 2012 in the Kentucky cities of Bowling Green, Elizabethtown and Radcliff. Several hundred Bluegrass Cellular customers have migrated from the company's 3G broadband service to LTE service as the company conducted focus groups and prepared for the full commercial launch of GetSetGo. Based on the success of this trial, the company is now pleased to announce that, in addition to markets served by Bluegrass Cellular for over 20 years, the company is expanding the GetSetGo product and service offering into contiguous markets that include Clarksville, Tenn., and Hopkinsville, Owensboro, Danville and Richmond Ky.

Ron Smith, President and CEO of Bluegrass Cellular said, "I am extremely proud of our organization with the launch of our second LTE network in the past 12 months. With this network, we will meet FCC mandates for the timely deployment of broadband services and expand our LTE footprint into new market areas. We look forward to expanding our products and services as the LTE product ecosystem expands, and as carrier-to-carrier LTE roaming and interoperability become a reality."

The GetSetGo wireless Internet service initial product offering uses an LTE WiFi router that integrates Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Ethernet ports in an easy and simple-to-use package. The company projects that GetSetGo customers will experience download speeds of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) and 2 to 5 Mbps for uploading data.

In November 2012, Bluegrass Cellular announced the launch of the first phase of its 4G LTE in Rural America (LRA) network in partnership with Verizon Wireless. As a result of that partnership, Bluegrass Cellular 4G LRA customers and Verizon Wireless customers have access to LTE-speed data services within Bluegrass Cellular's 4G LRA coverage areas. The partnership also allows Bluegrass LRA customers access to Verizon's 4G LTE network throughout the United States.

"The launch of our second LTE network complements our partnership with Verizon Wireless by expanding the company's network control capabilities and positions the company for the planned expansion of new competitive broadband products and services," said Smith. "Our customers who need the 'latest and greatest' mobility products and services will be well-served with our 3G and 4G LRA networks and services. Our expanding broadband services focused at residential and commercial customers will find GetSetGo to be a great fit for their needs.
