Sprint to Unleash the Speed and Power of 4G LTE in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City and San Antonio on July 15 ATLANTA, June 27, 2012 - As summer begins to sizzle, Sprint CEO Dan Hesse today invited Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City and San Antonio customers to harness the speed and power of 4G LTE on July 15 and to further enjoy the top-rated customer satisfaction experience among all national carriers, according to the 2012 American Customer Satisfaction Index.

To better meet the growing voice and data demands of wireless customers, Sprint is building an all-new, nationwide 3G and 4G LTE network through the Network Vision program. This means that whether a Sprint customer is using a smartphone to share a picture or to check the Web, Sprint 4G LTE will make it faster. Coupling the speed of 4G LTE with the industry’s only truly unlimited data plan for smartphones makes Sprint the best choice in wireless.* Additionally, the new network provides significant enhancements to Sprint 3G service. O2 Launches Commercial Operation of LTE Network June 19, 2012 -

• Telefónica is the first operator to bring next generation mobile communication to the Czech Republic

• LTE services will be available for the population in and around Jesenice and visitors to the OC Chodov shopping mall in Prague

Telefónica is launching the LTE (Long Term Evolution) 4G mobile communication network today, as thefirst operator in the Czech Republic. Starting today, the operator is also offering commercial LTE services to its customers. The new network offers the fastest mobile Internet today to people. LTE supports data transmissions as much as ten times faster than the 3G technology.

"We will offer our customer real users data download speed of up to 60 Mbps and upload speed of up to 25 Mbps, with network ping around 20 ms. These are no laboratory conditions, but real speeds that we measured in the location," says Martin Škop, Telefónica Czech Republic's director for technologies and network planning.

"Back in 1991 we introduced mobile communication to the Czech Republic. In 1996 we brought the second generation digital system - GSM. In 2004 we launched the CDMA data network, which is a 3G network, and a year later we were again the first operator in the Czech Republic to start the UMTS network.

Now we are coming with the LTE 4G mobile communication network. O2 has been the leader of the Czech mobile communication for 21 years and we intend to remain at the front," said Jiří Dvorjačanský, Telefónica's Director, Marketing Division, upon the commercial launch of LTE. Telefónica has brought four generations of mobile communications systems to the Czech Republic and is a five-time leader among operators in new technology launch.

O2's LTE network covers the municipality of Jesenice (district Prague-West) and its surroundings, with the total population of almost 10,000. LTE signal is also available in approximately half of theChodov shopping mall in Prague, where the biggest and most modern O2 Experience Centre store is based. Telefónica used so-called network neutrality for the LTE launch and runs the LTE network at the frequency of 1,800 MHz, with the bandwidth of 2 x 10 MHz. The LTE technology was supplied by the firm Huawei.

From June 19, 2012, first customers may buy one of the two devices with LTE support with a SIM card, in order to be able to fully use the benefits offered by the technology. O2 offers three LTE Mobile Internet tariffs, starting at CZK 333 per month. Models may be rented for CZK 1, with a refundable deposit of CZK 1,000.

Huawei Completes Industry''s First eHRPD Optimized Handoff Test Shenzhen, China, June 19, 2012: Huawei, the world's leading information and communications solutions supplier, today announced the successful completion of a commercial test for LTE to CDMA evolved, High-Rate Packet Data (eHRPD) optimized handoff. eHRPD means the evolution and improvement of the original CDMA EV-DO network.

Sprint Direct Connect Offers Three Times More Push-to-Talk Coverage than Nextel with Roaming, 1xRTT Capabilities OVERLAND PARK, Kan., June 18, 2012 - Sprint today announced it has added more coverage area to its Sprint Direct Connect push-to-talk service – creating three times the push-to-talk coverage of its Nextel National Network – with the addition of roaming and Sprint 1xRTT coverage areas.1 Sprint Direct Connect – the new gold standard in push-to-talk – supports broadband capabilities, the latest business productivity applications, social media and multimedia, and future push-to-X capabilities on Sprint’s broadband CDMA network.

The launch of 1xRTT and roaming is the latest in a series of enhancements to Sprint Direct Connect designed to encourage customer migration from the Nextel National Network platform and to appeal to new customers.

“The coverage expansion through roaming and 1xRTT takes Sprint Direct Connect to a new level,” said Uday Patel, director-Sprint Direct Connect Marketing. “To all customers – from first responders who consult with peers across time zones to big businesses that use push-to-talk to communicate with employees on different coasts – the expansion will have instant value.”

Customers will experience the same instant connectivity when a push-to-talk call has been established, however the initial call setup time will increase slightly if a user is in a 1xRTT area or when roaming.*

The expansion of the Sprint Direct Connect network also marks another milestone for Network Vision, Sprint’s nationwide network upgrade using the newest, most advanced equipment in the industry. Sprint plans to consolidate multiple network technologies into one seamless network with the goal of increasing efficiency and enhancing network coverage, call quality and data speeds for customers.

Earlier this month, Sprint announced it will decommission its iDEN network as early as June 30, 2013 as part of Network Vision plans. Network Vision is expected to add net economic value for Sprint from reduced roaming costs, cell site reduction, backhaul efficiencies, more efficient use of capital, and energy costs savings.

The company has already discontinued selling iDEN devices in most channels and will slow distribution further in the months ahead. Sprint will continue to support business customers with iDEN devices as needed during their transition to the Sprint Direct Connect service.

U.S. Cellular Builds New Cell Tower In Grants Pass Grants Pass, Ore., June 13, 2012 –U.S. Cellular continues to invest in its high-speed nationwide network with a new cell tower in Grants Pass. The site will increase U.S. Cellular's coverage and capacity west of Grants Pass and is one of more than 250 towers U.S. Cellular has built across the state.

Sprint Continues Network Vision Progress; Selects Vendors to Decommission the iDEN Network

Sprint Continues Network Vision Progress; Selects Vendors to Decommission the iDEN Network OVERLAND PARK, Kan., June 12, 2012 - Sprint announced today that it has signed agreements with Goodman Networks, Overland Contracting, Inc., a construction affiliate of Black & Veatch, Pyramid Network Services LLC and WesTower Communications Inc. to decommission the company’s iDEN network. Under the terms of the deals, these suppliers will negotiate lease termination agreements, restore cell site compounds and remove Sprint network equipment for re-use or recycling.

Sprint recently announced that it plans to cease service on the iDEN Nextel National Network as early as June 30, 2013, which marks another major milestone on the path to completing the Sprint Network Vision plan. Network Vision is a multiyear initiative to provide an enhanced network experience by improving voice quality and providing faster data speeds, while creating network flexibility and reducing operating costs.

Network Vision also improves environmental sustainability by reducing electricity use and driving down greenhouse gas emissions. Today’s announcement underscores Sprint’s commitment to decommissioning the iDEN network swiftly and efficiently. To begin preparing for the more robust network consolidation, the company expects to shut down a total of 9,600 iDEN sites before the end of the third quarter 2012.

“After a thorough RFP process, Sprint has selected the best suppliers to cost-effectively hit our milestones for site shutdown, enabling the company to exit from those locations at a minimum cost,” said John Harrison, vice president-Network Supplier Performance Management. “In addition, we have taken extra care in selecting these suppliers to ensure our industry-leading green standards are maintained.”

Sprint released an Electronic Stewardship Policy in May 2011, outlining its goal to eliminate all internal e-waste from its own operations and establishing social and environmental criteria that its e-waste suppliers must meet.

Sprint continues to facilitate migration of iDEN customers to Sprint Direct Connect service. Sprint Direct Connect, the industry’s newest push-to-talk (PTT) gold standard, was announced in October 2011. The service provides broadband data capabilities, familiar push-to-talk features, and rugged and reliable handset options. Sprint Direct Connect coverage is expected to broaden throughout 2012.

During the past eight months, Sprint has announced four rugged Sprint Direct Connect handsets: Kyocera DuraMax, Kyocera DuraCore, Kyocera DuraPlus and Motorola ADMIRAL™, which cater to push-to-talk users. Last month, Sprint made International Direct Connect available on its Sprint Direct Connect devices, expanding the reach of push-to-talk capabilities to and from Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Peru and Chile.

Sprint Introduces “Unlimited Love Unlimited EVO” Ad Campaign to Launch HTC EVO 4G LTE Smartphone OVERLAND PARK, Kan., June 04, 2012 - Sprint has introduced a new advertising campaign to launch the next evolution of the award-winning HTC EVO™ family: HTC EVO™ 4G LTE, exclusively from Sprint. The theme of the new campaign, which began airing Sunday, is “Unlimited Love Unlimited EVO.”

The new national TV spot, “EVO Live,” is essentially a love song sung by EVO fans with their phones. The spot includes a 130-person “mobile chorus” recreating American alternative rock band Wilco’s hit song “I’m Always in Love” by using nine different music-making mobile applications.
