Convergence Technologies Inc (CTI) Announces Rural LTE Partnership with Verizon Wireless April 29, 2011 - Convergence Technologies Inc (CTI) announced today that the company has entered into an agreement with Verizon Wireless to participate in the company’s LTE in Rural America program. Under the program, CTI will work with Verizon Wireless to deliver 4G LTE services to rural Indiana communities within the IN-5 Cellular Market Area.

CTI has over 10 years of operational experience as a fixed wireless and wireline provider that has enabled the build-out of an extensive core backhaul, tower and value-added services infrastructure. 4G mobile broadband represents the logical next evolution of CTI’s business strategy. Under the agreement, Verizon Wireless will lease to CTI its 700 MHz upper C block wireless spectrum in the CTI service area where Verizon Wireless has not already constructed a network. This project will leverage portions of CTI’s recent $18 million Broadband Stimulus Project to bring advanced 4G wireless services to underserved rural communities throughout Illinois and Indiana. CTI expects 4G LTE speeds of up to 12 Mbps for downloads and up to 5 Mbps for uploads.

CTI 4G LTE customers will be able to roam on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network throughout the country and Verizon Wireless customers will be able to roam on the CTI 4G LTE network. Carolina West Wireless and Verizon Wireless Partner in Rural America Initiative

Carolina West Wireless and Verizon Wireless Partner in Rural America Initiative April 21, 2011 - Carolina West Wireless announced it has entered into an agreement as part of Clear Stream Communications, LLC to partner with Verizon Wireless in the LTE in Rural America initiative.

The LTE (Long Term Evolution) in Rural America program is a Verizon Wireless initiative established in 2010 to bring the benefits of high-speed mobile broadband to rural areas of the United States by sharing access to its 700 MHz spectrum with rural operators.

Verizon Wireless plans to partner with Clear Stream to cooperatively build and operate its 4G network in Northwestern North Carolina using Clear Stream tower and backhaul assets and Verizon’s core LTE equipment. This will provide 4G LTE coverage to Carolina West subscribers, as well as Verizon Wireless customers traveling through the area. In addition, Carolina West customers will have access to Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network throughout the United States.

“This is a significant step forward in our pursuit of consistently providing our customers with the most reliable and efficient wireless data technology available,” said Slayton S. Verizon Wireless Launches Six New 4G LTE Markets Today BASKING RIDGE, NJ — April 21, 2011 — Verizon Wireless announced that it is turning on the world’s most advanced wireless network in six more metropolitan areas today, as well as expanding the 4G LTE network in Charlotte, N.C. The areas where the 4G LTE network is now available include Clarksville, Tenn.-Hopkinsville, Ky.; Cleveland, Tenn.; Columbia and Hilton Head, S.C.; Wilmington, N.C.; and the Greater Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania.

MACH Gears Up To Support 3G Roll Out in India Hyderabad, 18th April, 2011 – In one of the company’s largest investments ever, MACH, the leading provider of hub-based mobile communication solutions, announces today that it has deployed its second global data clearing platform in Hyderabad, India. The multi-million dollar investment paves the way for mobile operators in India to leverage the full service capabilities of 3G without large CAPEX investments.

TELUS to Deploy 4G+ Wireless LTE VANCOUVER, April 6, 2011 - Canadians will enjoy even faster mobile internet access speeds in early 2012 with the planned launch of TELUS' next generation, Long Term Evolution (LTE) network. LTE technology supports manufacturer's rated peak download speeds of up to 150 megabits per second (Mbps) and upload speeds of up to 70 Mbps**. This initiative is the latest technology evolution in the wireless network upgrade path made possible by the launch in 2009 of Canada's fastest* coast-to-coast HSPA+ wireless network, that today covers more than 95 per cent of the Canadian population.

Following extensive field testing in 2011 and the completion of an RFP process currently underway, construction on TELUS' next generation, 4G+ LTE network will begin in the latter half of 2011 in major urban markets across Canada. TELUS' LTE network will operate on the Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) spectrum that TELUS purchased for $882 million in Industry Canada's auction process in 2008. TELUS believes that the timing of its planned LTE launch in 2012 is appropriate and opportune given its desire to leverage the economies of scale in the manufacturing of LTE equipment, the hardening of LTE technology for market readiness, the progression in the development of LTE-capable data devices and smartphones and the need to synchronise the higher bandwidth capabilities of LTE with the accelerating appetite of clients for data rich services.

Sprint Extends Agreement Worth $1.2 Billion to Provide Wireline/Wireless Voice and Data Services to VHA, the Leading National Health Care Purchasing Network OVERLAND PARK, Kan., April 06, 2011 - Sprint today announced that VHA, an Irving, Texas-based health care purchasing network, has agreed to a three-year contract extension with Sprint worth an estimated $1.2 billion. Sprint, a primary telecom carrier to VHA since 1997, will continue to provide wireless services – including solutions and handsets – as well as wireline and data capabilities to VHA and Provista members.

VHA and Provista serve about 1,350 not-for-profit hospitals and more than 30,000 non-acute health care organizations nationwide, employing more than 3 million people. The purchasing network works with members to identify and implement best practices to improve clinical outcomes, operational efficiency and cost savings.

WSCA extended its contract worth an estimated $360 million over three years, increasing the total lifetime value of the contract to $1.4 billion.
