Singer, songwriter and shaman, he has received innumerable honors: the Jamaican Order of Merit, a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, membership of the Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame, a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Grammys. Through the relationship with Verizon Wireless, Rhapsody will be fully integrated with VCAST Music, delivering a superior music service across multiple consumer devices.

“With RealNetworks and Verizon Wireless, we’re creating a unique and engaging experience that also reflects our own strategy of allowing fans to go narrow and deep into the musical genres they love,” said Judy McGrath, Chairman and CEO of MTV Networks. “Any time we can partner with industry leaders like this to create a new music proposition, everyone wins, especially the audience.”

ZTE Tallies 240% Increase In CDMA Base Station Shipment For First Half Of 2007

ZTE Tallies 240% Increase In CDMA Base Station Shipment For First Half Of 2007 21 August 2007, Shenzhen, China - ZTE Corporation ("ZTE"), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, today announced that it has shipped close to 12,000 CDMA base stations in the first 6 months of 2007. The figure represents a remarkable 240% increase compared with same period last year, resulting in ZTE meeting its 2006 annual target, with still five more months before the year ends.

"Since 2001, ZTE had already shipped over 55,000 CDMA base stations," said Mr. Zhu Jinyun, general manager of ZTE's CDMA product. "India alone accounts for over 20,000 sets of the shipment, allowing ZTE to capture the largest market share for CDMA base stations in the country. ZTE has also launched CDMA base stations with new frequency bands, including 1700/2100 MHz (AWS band), 410 MHz, ATG (Air-to-Ground) band, etc."

In addition to registering a sterling record in volume shipment, the company also has another milestone to announce - its CDMA system subscriber capacity has exceeded 100 million lines, representing a 100% increase compared to the figure as of end-2006. As the leading global CDMA supplier in the market, ZTE not only secures large volume market share in Asia and Africa, but also enjoys significant development in its business scope in high-end strategic markets in Europe and America.

In large volume market segments, ZTE has significant business success in India and Indonesia this year. The company has accumulated a total network subscriber capacity of 43 million lines in India, while it has become one of the top three CDMA suppliers with a capacity of 15 million lines in Indonesia. Across Africa, the development of ZTE's business in Morocco has been particularly solid. Recently it has successfully helped WANA to expand its user scale by adding over 4 million lines of CDMA Softswitch core network capacity, making WANA's CDMA network one of the most sizable across the whole continent. In the near future, ZTE is planning to further migrate WANA's CDMA network from WLL to mobile network.

In addition, ZTE has also been enjoying positive growth in the high-end strategic markets in Europe and US. In Norway, it has built an EV-DO/GoTa commercial network, contributing to the development and expansion of the user base in the country. The company also built the first EV-DO Rev.A network in Czechoslovakia with more than 360 base stations covering the entire republic. In the US, ZTE is currently developing the CDMA2000 1X or EV-DO network for at least four operators, as initial strategic step into entering the elite class of tier-one operators in North America.

GE HealthCare And Sprint Deliver Wireless Connectivity To Hospitals Across North America

GE HealthCare And Sprint Deliver Wireless Connectivity To Hospitals Across North America WAUKESHA, WI, AND RESTON, VA, AUGUST 14, 2007 - Uninterrupted communication within a hospital is a requirement for physicians, patients and visitors and is essential to quality care. Sprint and GE Healthcare announced today their collaboration to provide in-building wireless communications services to hospitals in North America. Patients, clinicians and hospital visitors will benefit from secure, reliable voice and data communications, supporting an environment conducive to higher levels of patient care. The new in-building cellular communications network from GE Healthcare and Sprint’s Custom Network Solution (CNS) team leverages GE’s CARESCAPE™ Enterprise Access™, a single, universal wireless platform powered by MobileAccess, and includes Sprint handsets. This solution will provide hospitals with a comprehensive platform for voice and data communications over secure cellular, Wi-Fi and telemetry infrastructure that requires only one installation. Using the combined offering, clinicians, patients and hospital visitors can communicate more efficiently and with ease.

“Sprint CNS provides scalable coverage and a high-capacity platform for wireless voice and data services on the Sprint National Network and Nextel National Network, enhancing the mobility and productivity of staff at hospitals and other businesses,” says Darlene Braunschweig, vice president of CNS at Sprint. “We are very excited to partner with GE Healthcare to provide differentiated and innovative mobile solutions that are critical for every business. AC/DC’s Highly-Anticipated Back Catalog Debuts On V CAST Music From Verizon Wireless; Group’s Full-Album Digital Downloads Available For First Time BASKING RIDGE, NJ — August 1, 2007 — Verizon Wireless today announced an exclusive and multi-tiered relationship with classic rock legends AC/DC, as the company’s V CAST Music service becomes the first digital music service to deliver AC/DC’s entire back catalog digitally. Respecting the band’s reputation for delivering a full-album experience, Verizon Wireless is making AC/DC’s music available in full-album downloads. AC/DC’s catalog consists of 18 classic albums, and for many music enthusiasts, the AC/DC catalog has been one of the most highly-anticipated digital releases to date. The multi-tiered relationship includes AC/DC’s entire back catalog – of which Verizon Wireless is the exclusive mobile music provider through March 2008 – plus exclusive performance footage on V CAST Video and a special V CAST Mobile TV program.

Formed in Sydney, Australia in 1973 by brothers Angus and Malcolm Young (still the most formidable electric guitar team in rock), AC/DC released its first album, “High Voltage,” in 1975. The group has gone on to sell more than 63 million albums in the U.S., making AC/DC one of the five best-selling bands in American music history. The “Back In Black” album has achieved RIAA “Double Diamond” status, for sales in excess of 21 million copies in the U.S., and is the U.S.’s fifth largest-selling album ever. AC/DC was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.

“Verizon Wireless and V CAST offer a fantastic new high-tech platform for the long-awaited digital release of AC/DC’s music and video catalogs,” said Steve Barnett, chairman, Columbia Records. “Through Verizon’s cellular phone and mobile television technology, new and established generations of AC/DC fans will find fresh and innovative ways to enjoy the sights and sounds of the world’s most electrifying rock and roll band.”

“AC/DC’s back catalog is hot and fans nationwide have been filling chatrooms and bulletin boards for years speculating about the digital release of their albums. We are proud that Verizon Wireless customers will be the first to load up on their fill of classic AC/DC,” said John Harrobin, senior vice president of digital media for Verizon. “By respecting and preserving the full AC/DC album experience through full-album digital downloads and mobile video, we will ensure that the group’s classic rock is understood, embraced and here to stay.”

AC/DC “Shakes Up” Mobile Music with Full-Album Downloads on V CAST Music

This new relationship will encourage new digital behaviors as Verizon Wireless customers will have the ability to purchase music as full-album downloads of AC/DC’s entire back catalog. By visiting the V CAST Music online store at www.verizonwireless.com/music fans will be able to download any of AC/DC’s full albums to their PCs and then sync them to their phones with V CAST Music Manager. “You Shook Me All Night Long” will be the only single available as an individual full-song download over-the-air, and will be used to promote full-album downloads of AC/DC’s catalog in ongoing marketing campaigns. Fans can also get the sounds of their favorite classic rock band with AC/DC Ringtones and Ringback tones from Verizon Wireless.

AC/DC on V CAST Mobile TV Coming Soon

In an effort to educate new generations of music fans on the breadth of their enormous body of work, AC/DC will soon deliver AC/DC TV on the new V CAST Mobile TV.
