The CDMA Development Group has been involved in activities to propose IP-based OTA standards for CDMA Handset Configuration Management. The goal of the IOTA Device Management team is that these standards will provide flexible, cost effective alternatives for OTA deployments. The requirements developed by this team will reflect carrier interests and business requirements. The team consists of interested carriers, handset manufacturers and infrastructure providers who are current members of the CDG. In order to get this work done rapidly and thoroughly, a small core team was formed to propose new documents that are reviewed by the full team and submitted to standards groups. The IOTA Device Management team has already completed and submitted a new Stage 1 document to 3GPP2 which is now under consideration by TSGs. The group will continue working on development of new requirements and capabilities (IOTA evolution), as input to standards bodies, and on promoting and facilitating alignment with OMA Device Management standardization. |
