Because of the role Asia-Pacific plays in the development and success of CDMA, the CDG holds regular activities in the region. These include press tours, large conferences, targeted events and speaking opportunities. The CDG continues to work with administrations and regulators throughout Asia/Pacific to ensure the success of CDMA2000. From 1900 MHz advocacy in India and other countries, to educating regulators on the successes and widescale availability of CDMA2000 in Asia and the rest of the world, the CDG is engaged. Working with member companies, the CDG provides the information to help regulators make informed decisions regarding 3G migration and spectrum allocation. More than 30 reporters attended the briefing, representing such international media outlets as China Daily, Global Sources, Nikkei Electronics, South China Morning Post, Telecom Asia, Telecommunications International, Total Telecom, Voice & Data and Wireless Asia. The CDG took this opportunity to discuss CDMA2000 benefits and future role in China. The CDMA2000 industry is working with the TD-SCDMA Forum and the WCDMA community to assure that interoperability is a reality for 3G in China.
