CellularONE Bermuda began offering cellular service to the 62,000 Island residents
of Bermuda in July 1999. After 4 years, it has become the Island largest carrier.
In June 2003 it installed a Lucent CDMA20001X network at 800 MHz to compliment
its' existing AMPS and TDMA 800 networks. The CDMA network is the only 3G network
in Bermuda as the two other competitors are GSM. The CDMA product is marketed
under the CellularONE brand and is called ONE-X. The ONE-X service offers voice,
mobile data, and fixed wireless solutions. Through existing roaming agreements
CellularONE Bermuda has roaming services in over 800 markets around the world. |
