LG UPlus Corp.

Incorporated in Seoul, Korea in 1996, LG UPlus is the first PCS operator in the world to employ commercial CDMA technology. In 1998, the company also launched the industry ’s first commercial wireless data access service.

Other industry-first innovations include wireless internet service and mobile payment service for metro transportation in 1999; infrared payment service for credit card purchases in 2002; IC-based mobile banking service in 2003; and commercial Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) service in 2006.

LG UPlus’ service brands include BankON, MusicON, and PassON. Launched in 2003 , BankON is the world ’s first IC chip-based mobile banking service and now has more than 1.5 million users.

For the past four consecutive years, LG UPlus has been recognized as the “Best KOSDAQ-Listed Company for Corporate Governance ” by the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS). This can be largely attributed to LG UPlus' commitment to business ethics and the “ LG Way ” management philosophy, by which all staff and partners are inspired to think, analyze, and demand from the customer ’s perspective.
